Entertainment Industry and their life style Lead


The entertainment industries in the world have witnessed a tremendous turn around with more revenue being generated by the stakeholders and artist, But in the past decade, the Nigeria’s music industry has experienced an unusual growth and transformation to the extent that many artistes have won several international awards including Channel O Music Video Awards, World Music Awards and MTV Europe Music Awards.
The Nigerian industry as we know is a leading one in Africa and the world in general. Although with the issue of piracy still looming and eating up the industry, one cannot over look the big bucks being made by these artistes. Big bucks being made from shows, endorsement deals, record deals and merchandise, these artistes are young,
entertaining but sometimes over ruling. From the likes of Wizkid, D’banj; Tuface; Davido and Psquare to the likes of Burna boy, Timaya; Terry G; MI and Ice Prince, One visit to where these artistes stays and you will be wowed with the kind of life style lead.

D’BANJ

 Co-founder of the defunct Mo’Hits Records and owner of DB records which harbors his young brother Kay Switch, is a wealthy artiste. Producer J sleek and J sol is in a merchandise deal with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music records. In his track Mo gbono feli feli, he made mention of being paid N10million per week. D’banj has three platinum selling albums, Koko water, Koko lodge, Koko mobile and Koko mansion. 


The first African cousin to popular rapper, Snoop dogg now Snoop Lion, live extravagantly. Going through D’ banj’s garage, you see the latest set of cars ranging from Range Rover sport, Rolls Royce, Bentley and Lamborghini.


Ice Prince who is also a popular figure in the industry was born Panshak Henri Zamani in the city of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria. At age two, he moved with his family to the mining city of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. While residing in Jos, he attended St. Murumba College, the same school that produced P-Square, Mikel Obi, and the Governor of Bauchi State, Isa Yuguda among others.  Ice Prince also opened up about the passing of his parents and the challenges he faced early on. He said "Life was not that rosy. When my dad was alive, life was pretty much rosy but I lost my Dad in 1999 and it was my Mum that was taking care of me up until she died too. So it was kinda hard to get by, really. I dropped out of school in my 100Level to focus on my music.I moved to Abuja and started living with MI and Jesse Jagz”. He is a Nigerian Hip hop recording artist best known for winning the 2009 Hennessy Artistry as well as for his song "Oleku". He won the 2013 BET Awards for "Best International Act Africa".  Ice Prince is currently signed to Chocolate City. Having a child at the age of nineteen, he recently accepted the responsibility of the child, with cars ranging from a Range Rover to a land Rover LR7.

Psquare need little or no introduction in the industry. Their story began in St. Murumba secondary school, a small Catholic school in Jos, Nigeria. Identical twins Peter and Paul joined their school music and drama club where they began singing, dancing, and mimicking songs by MC Hammer, Bobby Brown and Michael Jackson.
They later formed a cappella quartet called "MMMPP" (M Clef a.k.a. Itemoh, Michael, Melvin, Peter and Paul). Drawing inspiration from their music idol Michael Jackson, they began break dancing, formed the group called "Smooth Criminals" in 1997. They dropped M Clef from the group "MMMPP" which later was changed to "MMPP". Their artistic talent and precise dance routine soon made them household names in the city of Jos, where they performed at school functions and other occasions.
Owners of Square records, they also own a mansion at Omole phase 1, Square villa with 10 rooms unsuited with bathroom and toilet, a swimming pool, a music studio, 3 living rooms and a discotheque. One of the twin brothers got married to long time girl friend and mother of his children Lola Omotosho. Psquare like D’banj also lost their mother after being successful.



Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun a.k.a Wizkid a talented singer, songwriter and performer, was born on July 16, 1990 in Lagos, Nigeria. He comes from a large family and is the last of six children. He started singing at age 11; he sang in his church's choir and released a 7 track album titled Lil Prinz. His first song featured one of Nigeria's celebrated musical icon, OJB Jezreel. As a Nigerian recording artist, songwriter, and performer, He rose to prominence with his song 
"Holla at Your Boy". Banky W signed him to his record label, Empire Mates Entertainment. Wizkid's most notable songs include "Holla at Your Boy", "Don't Dull", "Love My Baby", "Azonto", "Pakurumo", "Tease Me/Bad Guys", and "Dance For Me" to name a few.  Wizkid is young vibrant and also a sole competition for Davido.
The youngest of them, he, recently acquired a convertible BMW x6 that cost about N10 million.
   
Davido,born David Adeleke is a performing and recording artiste and also a music producer. Davido was born in Atlanta GA, USA on November 21st to Mr. And Mrs. Adeleke and attended The British International School, Lagos. Travelling between the USA, the UK and Nigeria, Davido has experienced different cultures but still stays true to his roots and this is evident in his music and the people he considers
his biggest influences musically, which include Don Jazzy, 2 Face idibia, Sound Sultan and Wande Coal. Though Davido started music professionally a year ago, he has been performing and making music since the age of 11. Now 18, he has set up a record label called HKN Music, jointly owned by Davido and Ade, his elder brother. The saying “If you want something done, do it yourself” is what led the brothers start the label as Davido believes that as a producer and recording artiste, he would be in the best position to create music that suits his style. When asked to choose an ideal producer to work with, he responded “...myself, because I know what I want exactly!” He is however quick to mention that he would definitely be excited to work with Sarz, Jaysleek and/or Don Jazzy. 
Davido with a gold neck piece of #5m (five million naira) tweeted a picture of his endorsement cheque of #25m (twenty five million naira) saying “it’s a chicken change” A couple of months ago Davido acquired a N140 million mansion in Lekki Phase 1, near his father’s house.
Project fame Chidimma, like Wizkid recently have a huge scandal involving a video of a supposed Chidimma having sex with a young man a common incident in the music industry.



The African Queen crooner, Innocent Ujah Idibia is also a household name, born in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria, better known by his stage name 2face Idibia, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer. He is also variously called 2face, Tuface, 2Baba or Tubaba. He is one of the most decorated and successful hip pop artists in Africa. He is consistently ranked as one the best African musicians of all-time. He was a member of the defunct Plantashun Boyz and after it disbanded, continued his solo musical career.
2Face has received one MTV Europe Music Award, one World Music Award, five Headies Awards (Hip-hop award), four Channel O Music Video Awards and one BET award for his musical work, four MTV Africa Music Awards, one MOBO award, one KORA award, and numerous additional nominations.
 Tuface Idibia hitherto, has a lot of property in Lagos and Abuja and recently acquired two multi-million Naira houses. He revealed that he decided to invest with Haven Homes by buying two units from its exquisite stable of contemporary houses because the company builds beautiful homes that are fast becoming a trend among celebrities including Oge Okoye, Ayo Makun, otherwise known as AY, Ini Edo and so on. Tuface is married to Annie Macaulay and also has children from other women.

TIMAYA is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and an award winning Nigerian musician, popular for socially conscious music that constantly references the role of God in overcoming difficult circumstances.
 Born on November 29, 1977 Port Harcourt, Rivers State in the Southern region of Nigeria. He started in Port Harcourt as a teenager in Folk Technical College, where he won so many awards in inter-school competitions and moved to Lagos to stay with his elder brother at his parents request so as to complete his secondary school education. He schooled at Ikeja High School in Ikeja, Lagos. At one time in Mgbuosimini he was spotted hawking plantain which he prides because he felt there is pride in legitimate hard work. Has written and produced a music track for YouTube star Jarrett Holt and Eulonzo Jordan.
Timaya the hit maker is currently preparing to marry his long time girl friend, which he started dating after his messy breakup with Empress Njama.

The entertainment industry with breakups, divorce, scandals, twitter fights, undue awarding, empty songs etc. still has contributed immensely to the growth of Nigeria and has helped in propelling Africa as a whole to the world.
